WHAT DO WE TAKE CARE OF

OUR TOP TIPS

CONTACT US

  • Call us sooner rather than later for a free consultation, that fits your time schedule.
  • Obtain or locate a copy of your policy schedule and policy wording.
  • It is better to discuss and understand your policy provisions and the cover that you have in place before presenting your claim of insurance.

COMPILE EVIDENCE

  • Locate any receipts/valuations that you may have for damaged/stolen items.
  • Check for any photographic evidence of items lost/stolen.
  • Take photographs of any damage prior to any emergency works being carried out and the items being moved.

KEEP A RECORD OF ALL YOUR EXPENSES

  • Keep a record of any costs that you incur during the period of your claim.
  • It is possible that we are able to discuss and negotiate payment of these with your insurers.

ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION

  • We can assist you with the move, and the removal of personal effects.
  • If your contents are damaged beyond repair, then we can arrange for a furniture pack to be delivered to you by your insurance company.

THEFT

  • If you are unfortunate enough to be a victim of theft, contact the police immediately and secure the area.
  • Try not to touch anything, and try to check and compile a list of all items (with a full description) missing as the police will ask for this. Make sure that you update the list with the police if subsequently you identify additional items that have been taken.
  • If you do not do this, insurers may challenge you on the items that you have had stolen.
  • Receipts and valuations of items may be requested so please ensure that you compile a proof of ownership log. (we can assist with this)

DO NOT THROW AWAY ANY DAMAGED ITEMS

  • It may be tempting to start clearing things up straight away, but unless it presents imminent danger, we would advise that you leave things as they are.
  • Once we and your insurance company have determined the full extent of the loss, it is only then that it is advisable that items are disposed of.
